What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

[He puffed his cheeks.]

Ah, right.

[She thought he might do a little better with the White Mages, but it usually wasn't the people, but the environment.] There's nothing wrong with that.

[topgun_textiles]

Not if you asked some of the people that passed me in the hallway. Pricks... b-but what's done is done. Whatever.

[He turned to her. Stared. After an awkward shuffle, he pulled the slider down on the jacket and rolled his shoulders to get it off. He nodded to the moogles, and Suzette neatly hovered overhead once more.

The jacket was a little on the weightier side, but it was warm. He draped it over her head and shoulders, his mouth a firm frown of focus.]

...Y-your nose is turnin' pink.

[pishirogane]

[She watched him with a small frown. She should've remembered; she should've stayed until he had his check-up, but she didn't... the last time she made them get a check-up, she basically forced them to do so. So, she should've remembered.]

[However, she blinked when the jacket dropped on her. Faintly, her cheeks turned pink and she grabbed it closer.]

... Thank you.

[He only nodded.]

...So what's your gut say? About them. They may be from our world, but I wouldn't go rushin' into bein' friends if they're shady.

... At the moment, my gut says we can trust them. Don't ask them about Personas yet. I want to see how they pick their Asterisks.

[topgun_textiles]

Sure. If you can spot 'em, we can just tail 'em a little bit. I'm guessing you wanna see if they get stuff related to Personas like Summoners, yeah?

...Huh. Wait, I didn't think about pickin' up summoner, myself. What if they don't?

No, I doubt it would be so blatant. I didn't consider Summoner first either because they were to be used sparingly against Shadows. I chose what natural abilities I contributed to our group since they were more familiar.

[topgun_textiles]

Same. Huh... so if they seem like naturals despite bein' our age, that means they got into some shit just like us.

That's perfect!

Now... if anyone were to take the Summoner Asterisk among their group, I would expect them to be like Senpai.

[topgun_textiles]

Right, that makes sense.

[He canted his head.]

So, uh... I might swing back for Ninja down the road later, given the chance. Any way-different Asterisks you thinkin' about getting?

[pishirogane]

Hm... I suppose I am considering potentially picking up Black Mage...

[topgun_textiles]

Ohhh man, with all the meteors and stuff? I can see you doin' that. Then I could use smokebombs and sneak in for the stab while you're feeding some dragon a space rock sandwich!

[pishirogane]

Yes, that would be an excellent team attack.

[Since they couldn't use their other one presently.]

[He was pink and looked away.]

...Yeah, I... kinda miss it. Not the fact that lives were at stake, but... y'know. Everything else.

[pishirogane]

... I do too. Still, it's better that's over most days.

You're right. Maybe we don't fight shadows anymore, but I got the best damn group of friends I could ever ask for. I wouldn't trade you or anybody else for the world.

...Ahh, we're freezin' our asses off out here. You, uh, wanna get some tea?

[pishirogane]

Yes, my thoughts exactly. [It had been an ordeal, but nothing she regretted.]

... Sure. That sounds delightful right now.

[topgun_textiles]

Awesome. I think I saw some place down the road... some of the berserkers sitting inside, too. I guess for some, a little tea or coffee calms 'em down.

[He smirked a bit.] I should keep that in mind, too.

[pishirogane]

Sounds appropriate.

[She smiled back.] I'll make sure to keep something on hand should you find it suitable.

Heh... well, I guess I'm old-fashioned when I say I've always been a fan of barley tea. If I'm ever, like, too berserk-ish to function, there's an old Tatsumi secret.

[He gestured to follow and moved on ahead.]

Maybe this world's not too different drink-wise. I mean, barley's barley and tea's tea, right? Not somethin' made outta kupo nuts.

[Right beside him she followed along.]

We'll see shortly. Once we find barley tea or whatever here constitutes as a suitable replacement, I'll make sure to carry some brewed and loose leaf.

[He'd started blushing. That... that sounded pretty nice, actually. He had to do something for her in kind. Her asterisks wouldn't ask for anything like rage, but knowing how hard she liked to work- despite her friends, himself included, fighting to get her to take a break once in a while- maybe she'd like something like that too. W-was he being too 'housewife-y' about it?

...He brought a hand to his face and masked it. Why did he feel totally okay with the whole 'housewife' thing? She was more the salaryman type- stop thinking about this.]

Y-you too, y'know! What's your favorite?!

[It was interesting he was asking, but perhaps he wanted to know in order to return the favor? She wouldn't be surprised; Kanji could be that type of person.]

I'm old-fashioned you could say. Green tea or matcha are my preferred flavors to relax with. Though, there are some black teas I wouldn't say no to either.
