What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as non-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

[His expression briefly blanked as he tried to recall... everything.]

Worried? Why? I thought I did everything the class taught me: Get mad and kick some ass.

Yes, you did that part fine. The issue was you didn't stop being mad. Did you see what happened to your target?

[Because what's left of it... her eyes glance over.]

[His eyes trailed, following her direction. Most of the dummies were busted up and were currently being mended by the handier of the Guild, while with handy woodwork that came naturally do the class, new ones were rolling in to replace. One, however, was a pile of splinters, metal and a bit of stuffing. His eyebrows shot up and something cold grew in his belly. That memory from middle school bloomed fresh in his mind and his face prickled.

For just a moment, he looked lost again, concerned. But in the next, he clumsily waved it off and everything was awkward bravado.]

Oh. Uh. ...Y-yeah, I guess I went to town on it. But I give nothin' less than 100%, right? Always was the case!

[pishirogane]

... Just be careful.

[He's right, they did have to give it there all, but this did seem dangerous. He had gone into a state where no voice could reach him. Even after his target have become splinters, approaching him had to be done delicately. It was the reason why Tippie was here now.]

[topgun_textiles]

I try, y'know?

[He gave Tippie a final scratch behind the ears, and set her down. When Kanji stood, the little dog knew that her work was done, and after a little yip began to trot her merry way back to the kennels. Plus, one of the handlers was whistling for her to come on back for rewards.]

I just gotta roll with white mages, or have somebody tie me down and throw some cold water on me. Right? No problem!

[pishirogane]

I know you do.

[Watching the dog trot off to her handler, she turned back to Kanji, looking up at him. She stared, considering, but seemed to reach some answer in her mind.]

... Don't head into any battle without me either.

[G-gaaahh, why does she always stare like that?! It's too much. But he can't help the deer in the headlights look when she made her decision.]

Obviously! Wh-... wh-what makes ya think I'd leave ya behind?

[Perfect. He totally played it cool, there.]

[pishirogane]

[She smiled.]

Just making it clear. There's no harm in that.

[She'll be able to monitor his progress in his Job as well.]

S-sure. [But the way you said it...]

I find assignments or anything that needs a tank, I'll send a message over the iMog. ...Oh!

[He waved for Suzette, who wanted it over to him.]

We got those linkshell private channel things. M-maybe we should make one?

[pishirogane]

I'll do similar when a ranged fighter is needed.

[She can accept these terms. When Suzette came over, she watched.]

Yes, we should. There's already a matter I wish to discuss in private.

[He began to swipe and tap the screen. Suzette had been good about teaching him the functions in a way he understood as a guy who only really had a basic flip phone and typical internet browsing.

The prompt for the new linkshell popped up, asking for a name. Investigation Duo sounded good. He fired an invite through the friend's list entry for Naoto.]

...Is there? I mean, everybody's touring pretty hardcore, y'wanna find a spot somewhere?

[The cool snowy day should help cool him off some more, to boot.]

[When she received the invite, she was quick to accept. All that done, she gave the iMog back to Cristo, nodding.]

Lets... I think it's something we should both consider.

[She, on the other hand, might walk a little closer. She doesn't much like the cold.]

[He took a look around, and he seemed accurate. The touring had everyone's attention and there were no eyes on them, doors opening and closing as the guilds were subject to countless visitors the stray noise above the murmurs of the crowds. He stepped down a side street with fewer visitors and more locals, who in turn seemed to keep to themselves.

Suzette helpfully perched on Naoto's shoulder and nuzzled her. Moogles were quite soft but impressively warm all the same.]

Okay, I think here's good. What's up?

[pishirogane]

[Looking around herself as they head out, she seemed satisfied with how distracted the others were as they moved to a more secluded area. With Suzette on her shoulder, Cristo settled himself on her other. Why they were doing this? She doesn't know.]

... There are others here from our world, about four or five years in the future though.

[Enjoy your Vaikuntha fur coat, Noot.]

Wait, seriously!? How d'you figure?

[So warm...]

I asked when one approached me. She remembered the interview I appeared in before my disappearance.

From Tatsumi Port Island?

[Still so weird to think about after their isolated case.]

Not Tatsumi Port Island.

[It felt like this was spreading.]

Makoto Niijima was the one I spoke to. As for the others, I feel like they're here, but I don't know who they are yet.

Huh... [Makoto. He had to remember that. But he perked up as he realized something.]

Oh! I-I ran into some guy when we were getting checked out in the medical ward! I didn't get his name, but he dressed like me kinda, and he had big scars on both sides of his face! He said he had powers like Persona, but they called 'em Stands.

So they've gotta be here! Some of 'em, at least.

[pishirogane]

I see... [Stands instead of Persona... Though, she gave Kanji a look.]

How did the conversation of Stands come up?

I... don't remember. He asked if I was hit by an arrow and that's what made my Persona show up, and I got no idea what any of that has to do with accepting your shadow.

[pishirogane]

Hm... It sounds like Stands appear when the one who wields the Stand is in danger.

[topgun_textiles]

Yeah, maybe. I kinda wish I asked more, but I was... busyyy...

[Hands in pockets. Hoo boy.]

Busy? How so?

[Kanji, what was going on?]

I didn't... I still don't like hospitals.

[He puffed his cheeks.]
