Enter the Master
[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.
An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]
"WELCOME!"
[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]
"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."
[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]
"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"
[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve asnon-crazy less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World
[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!
Questions for Ganeshan can be directed to the Ganeshan top level post.]

Aqua ☆ OTA
[Aqua blinks surprised when her hand is gently taken and kissed by one of the Red Mages, a faint blush rising to her cheeks as she smiles shyly, and asks her questions – she is already fairly certain that this is the job that comes the closest to what she used to be capable of, but it's always best to be sure.
In the end, she takes the asterisk and goes to the practice range, to attempt spell casting. She points her borrowed rapier at the target, focusing on the warm burn of a fire spell – that was the first of the elemental spells that she learned from Master Eraqus too after all.]
Brasier!
[A small flame shoots along the length of her weapon, hitting the target square in the middle and setting it on fire. Later, now confident and satisfied by the results of her training session, Aqua sheaths her blade, and notes to herself.]
I believe I'll be able to get used to this. Though I wonder… do they only have red armor here? I don't think that's quite my color…
[ B – Lavode City / White Mage guild ]
[It's certainly convenient that her other chosen guilt is located in the very same city – Aqua has always been the one most apt in the healing arts of Eraqus' three apprentices and even though she's been assured that her Red Mage asterisk would unlock healing magic with a little more experience, she can't help but worry a little.
Terra is here after all, and given that group of boys in her house… it seems best to take on a healer's job. By the end of the day she's spent shadowing one of the White Mages, she is certainly exhausted, sitting by the entrance and slipping out of her white robe.]
No doubt, it will take quite a bit of training to get anywhere with either of those Jobs.
[Her hand clenches a little, aching for her Wayfinder. Still, even with it lost…]
I'm up to the challenge.
Red Mage Guild
"Wait, hold on." Connie scrambles to her feet, turning to face Aqua. She might have a solution to her problem. "Could you do that again? Um, that Brasier spell. I need to see it again. For scientific purposes." As if to prove her point, Connie snaps some goggles over her eyes, fiddling with some dials on the sides.
no subject
"For scientific purpose?"
She's practice magic after all and though there are rules to that, Aqua wouldn't have considered it all to scientific at all. Still, if this girl asks…
"Sure! I'll be glad to help you out."
She focuses again, and aims her weapon at another target before firing another-
"Brasier!"
no subject
"Alright. Um, I don't know if you still have the mana for this, but could you run through the Red equivalent of Blizzard and Thunder for me?" Connie asks. "Seriously, this is a lifesaver. Maybe literally in the near future."
no subject
“Sure. Though, I fear I won’t be able to offer any more but those two at this stage.”
Blizzard and Thunder she means. Between that and Fire, her current knowledge covers all basic elements at least… though she knows there is so much more that she’s missing still.
She points at another target focusing before firing the spell – “Glacier!” – then swings her blade around to another target. “Foudre!”
Then she lowers her weapon again, turning back to the girl. “I hope this helped?”
no subject
"Immensely! Again, thank you so much," Connie says. "As far as to my understanding of it goes, magitek and, well, magic run on relatively similar principles, so I figured that if I took some time to observe somebody with a job that focuses on mana efficiency--like a Red Mage--could help me with a few problems I've been having with my lasers."
no subject
Aqua can't help but tilt her head a little – she has no idea how those lasers relate to her magic use… but well.
"I'm glad I was helpful. Truth to be told, it was nice to get some practice in too. The magic here doesn't quite work the way I'm used to from home."
There are more than enough similarities for her to make it look easy, but to a master of magic like Aqua, the differences are still a little startling.
no subject
"I'm just happy I can use magic--well, sorta magic--at all, really. It wasn't really a thing humans can do on my world. If it exists at all. It's hard to tell what's technology and what's hocus pocus with the Gems."
no subject
"I see… Well, if you need me to cast any more just say the word. Or if you pick up a job that requires true magic, I'd be happy to give you pointers."
Even if magic takes different shapes here, even if Aqua herself is still getting used to how it works… at the core magic is magic, no matter if she calls out 'Freeze' or 'Glacier'. It's certainly something she can work with.
Sorry, but can we wrap this thread up soon?
Red Mages!
Well, bravo.
[He looked Aqua over, appraising her. And he had to agree.]
Hm. You're right, though, red is definitely out.
no subject
She smiles then, faintly, one hand wandering up to tug at a strand of her hair.]
I know, it’s not quite my colour; especially not the shades they seem to be preferring here. Though maybe they have some rose or pink shades too…
[She isn’t holding her breath for anything in blue at least.]
no subject
Honestly, though, I didn't think they'd take Red Mage so literally. [He shook his head.] I mean, I like red fine --
[And he looked good no matter what.]
-- but too much is just boring. There has to be some way to dress this up. I won't be caught dead in anything less than fabulous.
no subject
Well, I wouldn't say that their style isn't fabulous… it's just a little mono-color.
[Which Aqua wouldn't have any problems with, if the color of choice didn't clash so horribly with her hair.]
But I'm sure there is a way to customize these outfits.
no subject
[He might have to agree halfway with her there. The decorative buckles, zippers, and laces were all appreciated. The hats with the feathers were a bit much for Snow, but he could see how others might like them.]
[He looked at his own outfit again and turned one way, then the other.]
But I will absolutely be changing it up. Keep my other boots, do away with the hat... The jerkin is nice, though, very soft leather. Keeping that for sure.
... I think it needs some animal print.
no subject
[Aqua rarely ever had the chance to think much about her fashion choices – while she certainly appreciates fine clothing, she's mostly been trying to be practical in her choice of cloths. She is first and foremost a peacekeeper after all, and needs to be ready to battle at any moment.
Still, that doesn't mean she doesn't have any interest in fashion at all… or that she isn't ready to converse and help this young man with his own choices.]
no subject
[He nodded to himself as he imagined it. He wished he had his black boots, but he could use the white and pair it with a white shirt under the jerkin. And he could easily get another pair of boots after some... ugh... work. Or something. He'd figure it out.]
I used to have a cheetah print jacket, but it wouldn't go with this ensemble at all. I'd have to do away with the armor entirely... Which I suppose I could do.
[But it wouldn't be ideal. Without his powers, he was vulnerable.]
