Who: All New Arrivals and Curti Center Staff

Where: All over Vaikuntha, starting outside of the airship hanger
What: Ganeshan, the resident Job Expert, will be taking the new arrivals around the the various Guilds so they can collect their chosen Job Asterisks as noted in their applications.

Enter the Master

[Each new arrival's iMog buzzes with a message instructing them to gather for a worldwide adventure to obtain the power of Vaikuntha. If they follow the invitation's instructions, they will arrive at outside of the airship hanger on the morning of the 15th, with their meager belongings packed.

An Enterprise-Class airship, the Ragnarok, hovers outside of the Curti Center. There is a flash of light on the top of the ship.]

"WELCOME!"

[A figure, minuscule at this distance, launches itself off of the ship and hurtles toward the ground. As he draws closer to the ground, he starts to flip, landing with a flourish. An armored figure, sans helm, turns his toothy Zora grin to the crowd. With a shimmer, his armor transforms into a white mage's robe, and he sends a rush of wind through the crowd for dramatic effect.]

"I AM GANESHAN, THE JOB MASTER! GYA HA HA HA! TODAY, YOUR LIVES WILL CHANGE FOREVER."

[Ganeshan shimmers again, ruthlessly abusing the Chemist's Modifier skill to once again shift Job Classes so he can lower the airship's loading dock with a wave of his hand.]

"I BELIEVE THAT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU HAS THE ABILITY TO MASTER THE JOB CLASSES. SOME OF YOU MAY MASTER MANY, OTHERS WILL PURSUE THE PERFECT MASTERY OF JUST ONE. BUT EITHER WAY, YOU'LL BE INCREDIBLE!"

[Ganeshan gives everyone a big thumbs-up. The out-worlders who are not scared off by this booming speech can feel free to enter the airship and prepare for their ride around the world. Hopefully some of the Curti Center's newest hires can serve as ~~non-crazy~~ less exuberant tour guides for the new arrivals.]

Around the World

[The Ragnarok will be stopping at every major city in Vaikuntha, with the exception of those cut off by the Imperial border closing. Characters can create top levels to respond to the Guild prompts and explore the cities themselves as the ship makes its stops. Each Guild provides information sessions, free food and trinkets for potential applicants, and once you're ready to receive your Asterisk, all you have to do is take some introductory lessons and fill out forms. Characters can receive up to two asterisks. Time to get to know your new world!

A1 - Sparks - Dance Like You Want To Win!

[ Dancing is something Amanda knows. She's been dancing with or without a broom since she could walk, and while it's less a part of her identity than the more overtly magical parts, she doesn't exactly have access to those here, now does she? She has to check out the Dancer's guild then, even if combat-dancing sounds a bit dubious.

Really, it only takes a few pointy shoes and bladed fans to start changing her mind. Even better, while she'd need practice, it all looks like stuff she could do - if not easily, than a lot more quickly than most of the people who've been brought here. ]

Really wanna see those magical dances though...

[ If they can't just show them off readily they have to be cool right? ]

[ ...she's practically dancing, tapping her feet, as she moves around town, too. She probably couldn't dance well enough to make enough money to start gambling if she tried a street performance, and that's assuming the guild didn't murder her for stepping on their turf, but missing out on festivities because you're broke is the worst. ]

B - Lavode - Better Red Than Dead

[ Amanda doesn't want to seem all impressed. There's nothing special about this! Just a bunch of foppishness and showing off.

Problem there: she's totally a showoff who knows how to put on the charm. Plus, the swordplay here, more than anywhere else reminds her of home; bringing together spells and swords feels almost natural just thinking about it. Sure, guys hitting on her is boring and whatever, but that just means that, given enough time, she'll be able to rep the girls-hitting-on-girls demographic for them if she joins up.

And judging by how upbeat she fails to hide herself looking afterwards, it seems like she might join up. ]

C - Ka'Pandol

[ So Amanda rides ze Shoopuff that Tidus mentioned. It's quaint. A little dull, but a little charming too, although she doesn't plan on getting used to it. That said, this town's guilds aren't too interesting - necromancy is super forbidden back home, and not her style - but there is something else Tidus told her about, and she's probably spending most of the time poking around the Blitzball arena and trying to figure out what the hell you'd do in that weird sphere thing. ]

[Someone else is also poking around the blitzball arena, because that's what he does. He's comparing it to the ones he's seen before---about the same, if a little more secure given the location.]

Hey, Amanda! Still thinking about the game?

[There he is with another cheery wave.]

[ Well heck she should've expected to see Tidus here right? ]

Tryin' to figure it out, at least.

Hey, if you've got a question I can probably answer it. What's weird about it?

[Ugh, he just wants to jump in there and play! They should totally let them do an exhibition game, but he has a feeling they won't go for it.]

I dunno, like, everything? Do they fill that whole thing up?

Well...where I come from, our world's magic held that whole thing together. When the stadium's ready, it's a giant floating sphere of water. There are locker rooms near where the goals'll be that we swim in from.

Huuuuh. So you just... hold your breath a long time?

[ Amanda's pretty good at that, but she'd need practice. ]

Yeah. You've gotta slowly work your way up to a game, though---there's no getting around training for it.

I'm in good enough shape...

[ She could seriously give it a try. ]

[He gives her a look-over.]

Yeah. Okay, then we'll do a tryout! I'm gonna be taking a class on when the tour's over, but if I can find somewhere to practice now...we're in the middle of the ocean, there's gotta be water.

...what, are we just swimming in what we're wearing?

I do? Most blitz uniforms are designed to dry fast.

[It might not look like it, but...]

But if you want to grab something else, it's no problem. I'm sure they've gotta sell something.

Mm, right, mine's not... exactly that. It wouldn't be a PROBLEM

[ Yelling at the sky. ]

if I could just use my WITCH MAGIC

[ She sounds annoyed. ]

on my clothes, but that's fine.

I didn't see anyone using spells like that in the guilds, but man, that's annoying.

[He tries his best to look sympathetic.]

There's gotta be something here if it's the blitzball capital, though.

Not like we're flush with cash either, so I guess I'll be looking for second-hand huh?

[ Scuffs her foot against the ground. ]

And yeah it's annoying.

Hey, maybe it won't be that bad.

[He casually glances through a shop window or two.]

I'm really not good at this shopping thing, but that one looks like it might have something! Want to meet up a little later?

It'll be a little bad.

[ But she'll deal. Or maybe she'll shoplift she's actually really good at that, do they have like, security stuff on clothes here? ]

I'll get it figured out, so yeah.
