Secrets is what led so much to ruin, in Nyx's opinion. Secrets and lies. Nyx preferred open-faced honesty to trickery. He'd learned a lesson in regards to that that he wouldn't soon forget. Even if technically he wasn't supposed to remember it at all.

Nyx spun the lance, jabbing it in the air at the imaginary kill points. His expression was stern.

"The Empire, who we fought against, destroyed my home and killed my sister. Our king saved my life and I owed him a debt for it. Being in the war enabled me to repay that debt and allowed me a chance to.. ... to get revenge, essentially. As petty as revenge is in the end."

Revenge had brought him nothing, to be honest. The tit for tat fighting between Insomnia and the Empire left so much ruin in its wake. Nyx could only hope that his actions could lead to a stronger future.
