homelate: (melancholy)

Before Sayori can cheerfully continue the charade, with a proclamation of their being old friends to Monika's moogle, there the duo bolted, to where, Sayori's eyes didn't follow. And it was as if the atmosphere had changed to completely frigid, and she stayed in place frozen.

So much for her impulsive plan to go out and buy clothes, and pretend they were normal for just a few hours... Of course it wasn't that simple.

Sayori you idiot.

She was going to hurt her more if she gave chase, so she doesn't. Sayori blinks, noting some warm new tears. When she moves back to the bed she was just laying on, she picks up the iMog and notes the date. Don't most games have an ending? She should keep count of how long she's been here, keep a diary. Maybe there's a player. Maybe there's a credits sequence. Maybe she won't be here forever.

There are so many rainclouds.

Dripping, drizzling, pouring inside, seeping out through her eyes, and she wipes them away. Despite not being forced to do it anymore, she writes, and makes a small illustration to accompany it.

I woke up in this place feeling dread
This is nothing like the stores I've read
My friends, three in all
They are drawn on this lonely wall

It's not much but the image comforts me
Even as copies of what friendship should be
It was enough, my world with three
Let's smile again like we used to

I'm not a good artist and their smiles are crooked
But that's how they exist
And I know I'll mess up if I try to fix it
I'm sorry

I'm sorry
I'm sorry
I'm sorry for being me
I'm sorry for ruining your reality

She has no idea if Monika will even come back in this room. But Sayori leaves the paper for her just in case. Monika's complex might just be more infuriated at how she was apologizing again. They... both hated themselves so much. They don't have to be friends, huh? She said it herself, but, she doesn't know who else she has. Her moogle greets her outside with a small wave. Sayori switches her light back on, saying she's feeling refreshed and ready to go.
