Raise a Glass [OPEN]
Who: The XV Cast and You!
When: June 6th
Where: Curti Center, Jiminy's Juicery (bar)
What: After saving innocents from the Dream Width, some people just need a drink.
Warnings/Notes: Alcohol consumption, possible violence, whatever people do in bars.
Their first foray into the search and rescue business in the Dream Width had been intense, to say the least. Stressful, heartbreaking, exhausting, and enlightening were other words some might use to describe the experience. After a night of rest and a day to somewhat sort things and people out, the next evening brings about a mighty need to head to the local tavern. Some drink to forget, some drink to remember, some drink to relax. There are even representatives of the Bard's Guild providing live music. You can try to make a request, but chances are they don't know your foreign songs.
Maybe you were invited by one of the excitable young men from Lucis, or maybe you came on your own. There's enough room in the bar for quite a few people, so long as they're of age. Sit right at the bar, or pull up chairs around a table, the choice is yours.

"Let me know how it tastes. I've never actually had it and honestly I'm afraid to try." Gi's not much of a cook himself--he can so that he doesn't have to live on takeout or overpriced restaurant food but it's nothing special.
It's his turn at the board again, and clearly Ignis hasn't had enough to drink, because he aims for and actually hits the bullseye this time.

And this guy is cheating. Definitively cheating somehow. Can person cheat in darts? Gi gets a frown from Ignis:"Luck or skill?" Not that it matters, he has to take two shots. He braces himself and takes one and makes a pause for a few moments, before taking the second one.
The burn disappeared from the amount of alcohol he had. "...My turn now, correct?" He needs to hit the bullseye too before this booze properly makes him unable to focus.
And what do you know- bullseye for him as well. And he can feel it was a pure luck- his hand slipped a bit, he was aiming too high.
"Drink up. I would like not to be the only one intoxicated around here."

"Good hand-eye coordination," is the answer he gives, grinning, and that's not really what Ignis was looking for, though he can stretch it to mean 'skill' if he chooses. In all honesty, he'd probably do better in an archery game than one with throwing weapons.
"You're not, if you count the other people here." He takes one shot and gestures with the empty glass at the rest of the bar before pouring the second one. "Are you now?" They've each had three shots and he's not feeling like it'll impact his ability to stay in the game.
Though it might be, because when he eventually takes his next turn (after squinting at Ignis for a few seconds), he tries to hit the bullseye in revenge and manages to hit an odd wedge just outside of it. Damn.

"I am not intoxicated just yet," he huffs, crossing his hands, using the word 'intoxicated' instead of 'drunk' on purpose. Because using big words is a sign that you're not drunk, right? Right. Back to the game.
He squints back suspiciously and clicks his tongue:"You know, making faces at me won't-" he notes the miss and smirks, "-make you win this challenge."

"Ah, then it's not unfair yet, because you're still sober," he reasons, refilling his shot glass. It's now unfair in Ignis' favor, because Gi is definitely starting to feel the effects of much alcohol in a small time frame.
"'Course it will." He doesn't squint this time, but pokes his tongue out at Ignis briefly, just before downing his next drink and taking another shot at the board. 10.

"It is only a matter of minutes," Ignis states, looking over at the shot glasses. He did down two of those at once. It's only a matter of time before they hit him in the head. Ignis has never been a heavy drinker- only for social occasions and only a glass of wine or two. Royal dinners were pain and necessity, he supposes.
"The tongue action won't help either," Ignis actually laughs this time and rolls his eyes. He also doesn't note that, despite he's not slurring, he's also not choosing the way he talks
He picks up the dart and throws it at the board- getting a 6. "Hmmm... maybe I should have played poker instead of darts tonight," he muses, noting his luck. "Maybe I would've won something."

Ignis probably doesn't mean it in anything resembling the context Gi decided to take it in, but it doesn't stop Gi from snorting and failing to hold in laughter. It's a good thing the drinks are shots and therefore small, since it's very embarrassing for tequila to exit through one's nose. Not that he's had experience with this or anything.
"Would it help later?" It's either a terrible joke or a terrible pick-up line, but either way it's terrible but he doesn't feel too bad about it. His turn at the dartboard is momentarily forgotten while he waits for Ignis' reaction.

"It depends on the technique I suppose," Ignis says, trying to keep his voice flat and unamused. But, honestly, he's battling himself not to burst out into chuckles. Innuendo, pick-up line and he's just adding fuel to the fire with his smartass responses.
He seriously shouldn't drink. Ever.
"Your turn," Ignis smirks, offering the dart.

"Right, right...I don't have any technique, so I'm gonna go with 'no'." That probably made sense in a roundabout way, but even if it didn't, he's leaning over to grab the offered dart anyway. How far would Ignis take the joke if he asked for a tutorial? He's not going to ask, biting his tongue and steering the conversation in a less flirty direction.
This throw scores a 60, and it's when he's retrieved the dart and about to hand it to Ignis that he suddenly remembers:
"Y'know...I don't think I ever got your name."

"You are not selling yourself well," Ignis says with a laugh. Usually, people try to get themselves in the best possible light, right? If asked for a tutorial... well, Ignis will think the guy is messing with him. People don't end up kissing strangers on the first day/night?
Right?
"True. Where are our manners? I'm Ignis Scientia. And you?" He accepts the darts and shifts back, taking aim at the dartboard. And that's a 9.

By various people, so he's accepted it as truth by now.
"Me?" It's a stupid question, but at least he doesn't pause for Ignis to answer. "Gi--uh, Guido. Cyneward."
Ignis might not be attractive enough to try to kiss on a first meeting, but he's good enough for a Full Given Name introduction. And Ignis has taken his shot, so it's Gi's turn with the dart.
After a few seconds of peering at the dartboard, he throws...and completely flubs the shot, hitting the board sideways with the dart and having to go retrieve it with a mumbled swear. The next throw is better, though it's slightly crooked in the board and has scored an 11.
