The spirit of Maul's brother stands in the back of the room, half transparent, half in shadow. It could have been a trick of the light, except for his bright eyes that shined back at Maul, a taunt.

It was difficult to tell if he was pleased, angry, or something else entirely. He turned to his left, taking a step and vanishing. There is no doorway there. Just a wall to separate the rooms.

In this house, Maul can go to his left, ignore whatever it was he saw, or go right, following the apparition.
