Regis was listening, taking in the reaction-- until that sigh. And then the green eyes focused far more, brows furrowing slightly.

"I'll help with what I can, those are all things that make sense but... I said you found it best. It's still not what you need."

Softly. But he could tell that Clarus was not all right, deep down, and it wasn't breaking him yet, but it was hurting enough that Regis ached. He watched his Shield, his friend, his heart for another long moment, then he slipped off his spot and walked lightly over, settling both his hands on Clarus's shoulders.

"I'll keep productive by your side. But when that is enough, even if I'm not - all that you need me to be, I'll still be here. However you need me."

And that was - definitely not an insinuation, for once, Regis's focus and expression far too serious for that.
