Years of experience and learning not to give a damn what others thought of you did that to a person. At this age, aside from keeping up his public persona, Clarus wasn't trying to prove anything to anyone. Being in the presence of Regis at this age, however, was making him just a bit self-conscious.

He politely complied and entered the room, moving to stand off to the side until he was offered a seat, if ever. It was just good manners, and... he also felt a bit awkward about all of this. Probably the first time he'd ever felt awkward being alone in a room with Regis.
