Emeralda had wandered out of her explanation meeting pretty quickly, not having the patience for listening to people talking and talking when she still didn't entirely understand what was going on.
Instead, the teen was walking through the center, green hair trailing behind her, staring at all the people passing by, looking for any faces she recognized. They had to be here, didn't they? They wouldn't have left her alone like this. Short and thin, dressed in slightly ragged clothing, she only stood out because of that hair of hers, and the annoyed expression on her face.
"Where they go..."
She huffed to herself.
Curti Center B
There had been a book she noticed, too high for her to reach but with a brightly colored cover that kept drawing her eye, and finally she stopped, looking up at it for a few seconds before she stretched her arm up towards it...]
[And nothing happened.
"What?"
She dropped her arm down, staring at her hand, flexing the fingers slowly, and then stretched her arm up again. Stretch. Stretch!
Nothing happened!
"Can't change." She said, dropping her hand again, turning to look at whomever happened to be passing by. "Emeralda can't change! Why can't change?"
A Quick Check-Up
Emeralda sat on the end of the examination bed, her legs swinging, the heels of her bare feet tapping against the bottom of the bed in alternating rhythms, waiting to be told she could leave. She'd only come in because her moogle had insisted, saying it was 'important for safety!' and she could imagine Elly or Fei frowning at her if she skipped something important. But now she was stuck watching two white mages looking at readings they had written down, and then at her, and then shaking their heads.
"Not human?"
She offered in what she hoped was helpful voice, which just earned her an exasperated look from one of the games, who suddenly hurried over again to press a thermometer between Emeralda's lips. Emeralda just stared at her until she took it out again, and leaned up to look at the numbers. Ninety-one degrees.
"That high number. Can go now?"
The white mage just sighed and turned to talk with her associate again, and Emeralda rolled her eyes and turned to look around, spotting the person on the next bed over.
"You tell I not human? Maybe listen."
She asked hopefully. Poor stranger getting wrapped into weird robogirl problems...
Pretty Sights
Emeralda and her moogle, Fidget, were wandering through the research center, looking at all the signs and explanations. Emeralda was mostly interested in the asterisk explanations, there were so many! But the astronomy pictures held her attention too.
"It pretty." She said to her little moogle, who was fluttering around in a circle, apparently with as much energy as the girl. "But all different."
"Oh yes, science here is really different from other places! People are always talking about how they have to get used to things like jobs and airships, it's all very strange to us!"
She suddenly darted down to give Emeralda a little hug.
"But you'll pick it up, I'm sure!"
Then she was back to fluttering around, and Emeralda turned her attention to the asterisk explanations again. She had to pick one of these, right? Hmm...
Housing
Emeralda had found the house she was staying in with Elly and Fei and someone else, B13, and it was nice and fine, but now she was exploring the neighborhood! Or, more specifically looking at the houses of the people nearby. She wasn't quite peering in the windows, but it was close!
She'd never lived in a neighborhood before. It was a lot different from sleeping on the ship! And it was full of strangers and...
Okay, yeah, she was peering in a window. She was curious! But eventually someone had to spot her, and she twisted around, her expression somewhere between 'hand caught in cookie jar' and 'oh hey new person to meet'.
"Uhm. Hi?" She said after a couple seconds of staring. "...You live here?"
[OOC: If there's a different prompt you want or want to run into Emeralda somewhere else, just let me know over on plurk at dalrint! She'll be wandering all over the place.]
