Surely, this was an exercise, but Maul hardly moved like this was practice. Finn was used to noting the difference. But he didn't take an offensive stance nor even attempt to use any other abilities in his Summoner job, much less consider switching jobs completely. He parried blow after blow, well aware that he was being driven back towards the river, debating with himself on how to act from here. Wasn't like there many subduing options with a weapon like this.
