It's a party, and that means that Serge is ecstatic. The fact that everything's gone as well as it has is nothing short of a miracle- not that he ever expected anything less. The wedding was really sweet, the food's great, everyone's in a great mood-
and from somewhere, Serge has managed to procure a massive banner from somewhere, which he is attempting to hang without being noticed, with the aid of Mochi.
The banner, of course, consists of a badly-drawn dragon with x's for eyes and the hand-painted slogan 'We're gonna kick that Baha-butt!'.

Somewhere throughout this crazy series of events, Kid had managed to fall out of the loops. Maybe it had been half, or two-thirds of the way along the timeline, but as far as she knew there was still a lot of work to be done.

As she approached Serge, she looked less-than-pleased about that fact, gazing at that banner he chose to display, and seemingly chewing at the inside of her cheek. "Well I dunno about that— we ain't gonna be kickin' much while we're wastin' time at some fancy-schmancy party like this."

Serge hops down, looking up to admire his handiwork. "I dunno. I think... people needed this. To see that everything's gonna be okay, I mean."
He turns, smiling a little at Kid. "We changed the future, Kid. We got the Legendary Eidolons, and we saved so many people... don't you think that deserves a little time to unwind before we have to go in for the final battle?"

"Haven't changed anything really, not yet," she looked away, trailing off a little. Kid didn't know much about the legendary eidolons or whatever it was they were calling them either, figuring they could probably be about as fickle as the Dragon Gods back home. It was a dangerous thing to put so much stock in fantastical creatures like that...

Serge, even the one from Arni, could always be so naively optimistic, just like the young man standing in front of her. She looked up again at that banner, wanting to believe, but... "What makes ya think everythin's just going to work out this time, anyway?" It hadn't worked in the times she remembered so far, at least.

He seems to... withdraw, for a moment. "I... I don't know. Not really. Maybe we throw everything we've got at Bahamut and it's still not enough, and it's all inevitable. But..." He's not quite meeting her eyes, anymore.

"We have to believe that we can do it. Because if we can't- if we start to doubt our own abilities, we'll lose for sure. And there's too much riding on this. Too much riding on us."

She frowns— listening to him. When he finishes, she lets the silence hang between them briefly, before leaning in to give him a punch on the shoulder. "Awh come on, that look doesn't suit ya." Maybe her own pessimism had gotten the best of her, but for some reason, seeing him like that... just didn't sit right with her.

"I mean, even if nothin' works it's not like we can just go down without a fight anyway, right? We're all in this together. Me an' you..." Why did that cause a sudden rush to her cheeks? Withdrawing her hand, she crossed her arms quickly.

"An'... Corrin and y'know! Everyone else of course." Smooth.

Very smooth indeed. He doesn't seem to notice the exact tone in her voice, but retaliates with a friendly nudge of his own. "We'll beat this. There's no way we can lose."
