Anniversary Event: Defying Fate

What: The Heroes of Light relive the three days leading to the Apocalypse, again and again. With this come the chance for them to save the world, but also to explore opportunities otherwise out of reach. Will they find a way to save the world and prevent this terrible fate from coming true?

[Starscream's expression shifted to a smirk and he steps back.

Oh, I hope so. You know I love it when people get hostile with me. It gives me a bit of a thrill, ya know.

Selphie shakes her head at the beginning of Kisegawa's explanation but waits until she's finished. The legends about Kalki are far from being legends to the SeeD. The claims about Ramaa being the reincarnation of said Goddess of Death were far-fetched but entirely possible.

"Not all of it is legend, Uendo," Selphie confirms. "I was there at the end and watched it all happen. Kalki said that she was doing us a favour by ending existence and Ramaa seems intent on doing the same thing. Kalki said that there would be more calamities before she vanished..."

Selphie's face pales as her mind begins to spin with possibilities before asking thoughtfully, "if Ramaa really is Kalki, who's the real Ramaa?"

"About Melodies of Life?" She asked to clarify.

She would provide what information she could, but she wanted to know exactly what Minimus was looking for before beginning.

Selphie eventually nodded slowly. "I'll tell you what I can."

"That and anything relevant. You do not need to submit a full report a this moment." This was a major compromise for someone like him.

Selphie nodded. "I'll start with Melodies of Life then."

She doesn't mention how grateful she is for the distraction. "Melodies of Life is an ability that could only be mastered using the Onion Knight job. The attack itself was very strong but the only way that you could use it was to have mastered ten jobs beforehand. It's really something that has to be seen in person."

[If only he were more fun to pick at. Starscream turns to leave the store, but stops briefly.]

One thing though -- if I don't listen to Megatron -- who, at least back home has a big ol' fusion cannon, what makes you think I'm actually going to listen to you?

Okuyasu was just as confused as anyone else. Did they die? Who was that voice? What the hell happened? Was it all a dream? So many answers he sought in the sky, staring at the puffy clouds as if they held the truth.

He didn't see or hear Undyne running full speed in his direction.

Oh! He recognized that term from the terribly typefaced pamphlets of Ganeshan's. "That is what Ganeshan is, correct? Would he be able to use it?"

She likes to think she's gotten pretty good at rolling with things, thanks to Papillon, but flesh-eating fairies are an entirely new experience. How are they supposed to beat that?

Marinette glances over at each of them in turn, and shrugs at Kanji's question. It might have been directed at their little friends but she doesn't mind answering.

"I wouldn't say that." Mostly because that's just an odd thing to say about someone, but whatever. Technicalities. It seems pretty obvious what his plan has to be, but she's too much of a meddler to stand by and do nothing about it.

Besides, they had more important things to worry about right now than hungry fairies.

The fairies do not answer any more questions; however Naoto's pick is the correct one. Upon walking this path, they'll find themselves in another crossroad, this one with three branching path.

[ OOC: As the mechanic for finding the right path has been correctly deduced, a couple more branching paths will be handwaved for the sake of getting to the Eidolon. ]

After finding the last correct path, the Heroes of Light find themselves in a clearing. There is a fountain in the middle and many fairies fly over it: red, blue, green, black and white ones. They all seem peaceful and don't appear to have a thirst for flesh contrary to what they said earlier. There is a stone before the fountain, with more marking in the language of Eidolons.

Should they step in the abandoned building, they would find themselves in a completely different place. The ghost city? Gone. The fog? Gone as well. They were in a castle that looked suspiciously similar to the the castle of Sen Riqeaux, but something was different. Looking by a window, the city surrounding the castle wasn't the same. More importantly, the land they could see on the horizon was not unusual. It was all covered by blinding white crystals, as if the earth itself had been crystallized.

There were no noises around them, as if the place had gone completely empty. To their right, they can see a treasure chest, again. The path on their left is blocked and backward leads toward the throne room.

He is, indeed, allowed to leave without being stopped. His airship won't be stopped in any way.

Not all deaths are physical in nature, after all.

"Hmm... Based on what you're saying, I can only assume time travel is the sole reason we're having this talk. The ramifications are huge, but there are more important priorities."

She lowered her head for a second, pondering.

"How did she destroy the world? Is it all Bahamut's work? Dangerous as the beast is, I could see it destroy every cities. But extinguishing life itself, it would require for it to attack every single inch of the planet. No small tasks even for a creature this size."

A nod before raising his finger.

"I shall help in any way I can. However, communications will not be easy unless we have a reliable way to contact each other. Thus why I must now teach you the Manderville."

He figured he was on to something. But he guessed his time for trying to be a clever boy would never come, and that was fine, he was just here as muscle anyway. Kanji tucked away the case and opted for silence from here on out.

So many fairies this time around, all probably hungry. He still had what he brought, but if they didn't want a bread-like sweet like in the books, then he'll just eat them himself later.

The stone didn't need to tell 'em twice, right? This was the summoners' cue.
