The surf is brutal, but the current is taking them in to shore anyway. Serge sees that Corrin is well in hand, and moves to swim for the shore- and freezes.
Never gave Klonoa his swimming lessons. Shit.
He turns back, diving for his furred companion and pulling his head above the water, dragging them both towards shore with a one-handed breast stroke. Minutes pass, and the five emerge, drenched, onto a sandy shore. It's... eerie, how calm it seems, here. Not that far away, the howling of wind and crashing of thunder can be heard, flashes of lightning illuminating a hurricane-blackened sky, but here, on this island, the air is calm, overhead clear blue skies, with only an occasional gentle breeze passing by.
Serge coughs, setting Klonoa down on the sand and pulling himself into a kneeling position, turning around to count heads. One, two, three, four. Great. And- a boat, dragged up onto the shore, sail ravaged by the weather. That's... familiar, somehow. "Okay. Everybody take stock. Anything broken? If this is the eye of a storm, we need to get inside, it's not gonna stay calm forever. Corrin, Klonoa, you okay?"
