The final words of the mother from that day had played over in Selphie's mind on a loop for a few days before the harsh words of a moogle and a good friend brought her back to her senses. Even now, there were friends with words to bring the perky brunette back into the present, to the here and now. She was hurting from the memory and couldn't quite return Tidus's smile but she would always appreciate the sentiment.
