First things first. Red pulled out the slate and took a few more snapshots of the crucial pages toward the end of the book. He'd have to share them with the others when he had reception again. But more importantly, as he did so, he studiously re-read the passages pertaining to the barren field; in particular, whether it was mentioned as 'barren' when the burials first started, and for any mention of that... bizarre, faceless statue out there.
Once he was done, it was time for a quick look at the mines. He didn't want to go too deep on his own, but it just wasn't like him to leave something like this unfinished; especially when the HOLIDAY mark was starting to seem more and more directly relevant to this place's mystery.
