The Basement of the Crystal Temple - Teams A and B

Team A members: Orcelito, Tidus, Rutile, Naoto, Snow White, Cor
Team B members: Ashelia, Castor, Terra, Shiro, Klonoa, Frisk, Madhuri

While the other party searches for an entrance from outside the facility, these teams start their adventure in the Crystal Temple itself. One of the researchers meets the group at the entrance and leads them through hallways and down a long flight of stairs. Where doors are open, the party can see the scientists hastening about their work; they seem tired and barely notice the party. (If Orcelito and a certain women pointedly ignore each other's existences as they pass in the hallway, don't mind it. He's following her advice in his own way.) The bustle fades as the group descends a second staircase and moves away from the lab area.

In a lesser-used room in the lower basement, there's a hatch lifted to reveal the start of a ladder. It's a small opening and a thin ladder, so everyone will have to climb down one at a time. It's a good time for your Moogle companions to turn on their lamps, and Marigold proceeds them to light up the space below. The air turns colder and moist as the party descends.

Below the Crystal Temple, the party finds themselves in the midst of stone ruins, devoid of light save for the lanterns. The researcher who led the group there will confirm this should be the temple (what's left of it), though there isn't much to see. There may have been once, but the years of erosion and shifting of earth have not been kind. And they are too busy dealing with the Bahamut threat to keep combing the area themselves.

Once their guide leaves, the party can confirm her words: there is nothing of interest at a glance, simply a great deal of emptiness in hollowed out passages. Navigating through the darkness by the lantern lights will reveal the remnants of rooms, boundaries marked by crumbling walls, but nothing of note.

Once he gets his bearings in the darkness, Orcelito turns northward. Even if he's never been here before, he knows where he's going thanks to the conversations with the researchers. He calls, "Look around for anything unusual, then meet me at the northern wall."
