Seconds tick away as the Heroes start solving the puzzle. Everything around them is still and silent, save for a gentle ripple on the surface of the water that doesn't seem to be coming from any of them...

Then something wraps around Finn's leg and pulls him under.

A second later, a tentacle the size of a tree trunk rises out of the water, dangling its captive upside down in the air. Another tentacle, just as massive as the first one, emerges from the darkness and reaches towards Kuja, while a third starts making its way towards the entrance, to Okuyasu and Nozomi.

Curiously, Sephiroth is going completely ignored. Or, perhaps, unnoticed.
