Lost Hope - Backdated to 09/01 (Sorry) - Open-ish
Who: Gladio and you! (One prompt will be closed to housemates/neighbors only)
When: September 1 - September 7
Where: Yun'Ashia and the Curti-Center
What: Hope disappears and it's time for yet another search
Warnings/Notes: None as of now - can and will be changed later if needed
A. September 1 - Where is Hope? (CLOSED to housemates/neighbors)
It's not until reaching Iggy's cafe that Gladio realizes he hasn't seen or heard from Hope all day. When he walks inside and sees that the kid isn't here either, worry overtakes his face and with a quick word about where he's going Gladio leaves the cafe and frantically runs back to the house.
Once home, he wanders the house to see if Hope came to visit. He checks the garden and the chocobo pen before knocking on the door of the second Eosian house. With every stop Gladio's voice carries the same question.
"Has anyone seen Hope?"
B. September 3 - Has anyone seen Hope? (MOGNET)
[The video opens with Gladio seated on a bed in his room, Noodle gently hovering beside him with a sad look on her face.]
Hey. It's Gladio. Got another disappearance - Hope Estheim. I'm not sure if it's the same as Iris, since she's still gone, or if it's something else. So if you see Hope or have seen him between the first and now, shoot a message my way?
[He holds up a picture of Hope to give anyone who might not know him a good reference.]
And if you have any theories about these disappearances, feel free to share them.
... Please.
C. September 7 - Is Hope really lost forever? (CURTI-CENTER)
Gladio's taken his time talking with his friends and trying to figure out what could be causing these disappearances and if all of them are permanent, but he can only stay in the house for so long without actually doing something. With Noodle on his shoulders, he says proper goodbyes to everyone before heading to the Curti Center (he's not about to just run off again).
He makes it to the center on the 7th and tries to look around without being too obvious that he's here for information. And maybe even here to welcome Hope home if he returns from wherever he went.

September 7
"Hey." Reno met Gladio halfway, feeling restless with sitting any longer. "Nothing yet, but... hopefully soon. I'm glad yer here, yo."
Yay frendo
"I couldn't keep sitting at the house just talkin' about possibilities. Figured comin' here would be good in case he comes back."
His face fell a bit with the news of no news, but he was grateful for Reno's support. "An' thanks for comin' t'help with this. How long've you been here?"
right in the feels
"And yeah... my thoughts exactly." Waiting around was hard, especially at a distance. Reno wanted someone to be here to meet Hope, take care of him when he arrived. Given his own past experience with the Dream Width, he could only imagine it would be just as exhausting or more so being in there for days at a time.
Reno shook his head. "Got in last night. Found a crappy li'l hostel toward the shore, but basically been campin' out here, y'know?"
no subject
His optimism had faded as time passed, but Reno seemed optimistic enough for both of them. Even if it came off a little ... strained.
At least the two of them shared the idea that Hope shouldn't return to no one at the Center. Hell, they could both hop on an airship to meet him before he was even pulled back here.
"Pretty sure I'll just be sleeping on an empty bench in here, so I get what y'mean. Can't believe there's no news though... y'think anyone here knows anything? Maybe we can ask around."
no subject
"I dunno, maybe they'll talk to you, different person an' all." The Turk put his hands in his pockets and looked around, watching the slow progression of research like it was any other day. Like how, for everyone else here, it was any other day. It seemed unfair.
"I just keep hopin' something will happen, some kinda' scanner'll go off an' people will start movin' a little faster, anything that might show that the Dream Width is doing... something!" He huffed a sigh.
no subject
It always felt odd seeing other people going about their lives as if nothing was wrong when you were suffering a loss - even a hopefully temporary loss like this one. Refusing to dwell on the bitterness that raised inside of him, Gladio turned his attention back to Reno.
"Maybe we can get someone to make somethin' like that? Some kind of alarm that signals when the Dream Width activates. Something that can sync to our slates and let people other than Biggs and Wedge know that someone or something is in there." It sounded like a plausible invention, but Gladio didn't know the first thing about making what amounted to a specialized app.
"Know anyone we could talk to more about this? Maybe the natives will be more friendly if we come to them with this idea. Might point us in the right direction."
