They’d waited for days. And then a few days more. Reno had been getting messages on his iMog from Sohma asking when he would be back to handle business meetings. Regis returned, and they waited. The pit in Reno’s stomach only grew deeper, but as long as that name remained on that list...

Then there was hope. Then there was Hope.

And then, finally, the day came where the wait ended. Unfortunately, it wasn’t how they’d wanted.

Reno’s blood ran cold when he saw it. He stared at it, willing it to change, willing it to be wrong. But nothing happened. Hope’s name had become gray, dull, lifeless.
