Who: Ravus, open
When: September 4th
Where: Yun'Ashia
What: It is Lunafreya's birthday, a day of remembrance.
Warnings/Notes: FFXV spoilers, mourning
Morning: FFXV House/The Temple of the Forgotten Heroes
Ravus wakes early, wanting to be on his way before his housemates wake. He leaves a quick handwritten note:
Out for the day- will return late. -R
It is not very informative, but at least he's not leaving without a word. He opens the door slowly, aiming for stealth, and stops in the garden for a moment before heading toward the Temple of the Forgotten Heroes. It seems like the best place for the quiet contemplation he's looking for.
At the temple, he leaves a single cut sylleblossom at the altar. He kneels, not praying, but remembering. He will not let Lunafreya become a forgotten hero. He's not sure how much time passes that way.
Afternoon: The Beaches of Yun'Ashia
The weather is cooling down, and the beach is not as crowded as it had been over the summer. It's a little cold for swimming, but pleasant for walking down the sandy shore.
Ravus walks down the beach to find a private spot, and uses his iMog slate to switch his job. His white jacket disappears, replaced by Summoner's robes. He raises his hands and calls down a Partial Summoning of Leviathan. Scaled coils materialize in the air above the waves. Ravus does not command the Eidolon to use her Tidal Blast. Instead, he just watches the serpent until his limited magic power falters and she begins to fade. Through the halting, untested connection between summoner and summoned, he senses confusion as Leviathan dematerializes.
Evening: Home Again
The sun is set before he finally returns home. A full day of light, he thinks, is a luxury Vaikunthans do not even realize they should treasure.
Ravus circles around the house to the garden, not ready to go inside just yet. Lit candles illuminate the carefully-tended plants there- likely Gladio's doing- and Ravus watches their wicks grow shorter. A measure of time, as well as a metaphor.
"Happy Birthday, Lunafreya. Please...find your way here..." He's not tearing up...absolutely not.
Wild Card: any time today

Evening
"Happy Birthday, Lady Lunafreya."
He spends his day as he normally would, at work and helping out at Iggy's cafe, before heading home earlier than usual. After tending to his own plants and Iggy's ever-expanding garden of fruits, veggies, berries, and spices, Gladio reverently sees to Ravus' plants. Once they are cared for he goes into the house and returns with several white candles, which he sets up artfully around the Sylleblossoms. Satisfied with their placement and how the glowing flames cast gentle light on the treasured blooms, he goes back into the house to fetch something he's been saving.
He waits. And waits. The sun sets and still no sign of Ravus. He keeps waiting, passing the time with carving and reading and praying, before picking up his treasured secret and heading back to the garden just in time to hear his lover's melancholic plea.
Gently, Gladio places a hand on Ravus' shoulder. "Hey..." The word is soft, hesitant, as if the brunet isn't sure what to say. Wordlessly, he presses a simply wrapped box into Ravus' hand and waits in silence.
Should Ravus open the box - wrapped in silver and adorned with a simple white bow - he'll find a packet of seeds along with two folded pieces of paper. One paper contains a pressed white rose in full bloom. The other is a handwritten note
that Gladio totally did not spend hours working onthat reads:These seeds are for you, Ravus, that once you've nurtured them and helped them grow their blossoms might ease some of your pain. They bloom at night, their radiance acting as a guiding light for Lady Lunafreya's spirit and also, hopefully, helping us remember her own vibrancy and splendor.
Instructions to care for these are on the seed packet, and I'll be here if you want me. For help with the planting or for anything else.
Yours,
Gladio

Afternoon: The Beaches of Yun'Ashia
The sky was a perfect mix of clouds and crystal blue hue that deepened where the clouds parted. The beach itself was impressive in its uniqueness to this shorefront alone, but Sora hadn’t particularly gotten anything more than a nice familiar ping for the memory of the beaches from home. What was impressive, however, was the sudden display of the serpent in the sky. The man who stood before it was nothing more than someone on the beach before the sight of the cosmic entity, but now Sora was thinking the man was not here to just enjoy the beach.
He stayed back and watched from a distance, but when the creature dissipated into the clouds Sora ascended on the man, quietly at first. Once he was mere feet away he called out to the other. “Hello?”

Late Afternoon
He takes his time walking back, letting himself unwind a little and thoughts fly around without any purpose. They do instantly settle on the note he saw in the morning when he spots a familiar, tall figure near the water.
Perhaps the sight of him and the water is too familiar, considering the things they went through.
He shouldn't interrupt him- it was the first thought that went through Ignis' head. But, he also knows that being alone with dark thoughts for a long time is not the best idea. Ignis doesn't intend to question him for he is sure that there is nothing that can comfort the older man. Some wounds... don't have a way to heal up.
Slowly, he takes the nearby stairs to the beach. He's not trying to be silent because that might result in Ravus thinking he was stalking him or something like that.
When he's in the hearing range, he speaks up, a lot gentler than how he usually addresses the man. "Would you like some company?"
