[That's the first sound he makes, because, seriously, why did she pick up on that line of all things? He scratches his neck again, sharp nails meeting a patch of scales.]

Of course not. Monsters don't care about...anything like what you just wrote.

[She couldn't even say for sure why that was what she chose to focus on first, but there it was.

And he didn't seem entirely convinced by his own words, did he?]

You don't sound so sure about that. [Her smile is kind, though.] But that's okay! Not everyone likes poetry.

Nope. I'm sure. It's just weird to talk about, alright?

[He scoffs, trying to play it off by changing the subject.]

Poetry isn't bad all the time. It depends on who's writing it. I've read poems so pretentious that they make yours look like a literary masterpiece.

[Well, if he was going to be that way, she couldn't really argue.]

Okay! And yea, I get it.

[Not everyone liked the same things, and that was fine. Even Marinette herself hadn't yet decided how she felt about poetry, and here she was, sharing a poem anyway.]

That makes sense. [She just smiled at that.] Are you saying mine wasn't the worst thing you've ever read? [That was actually sort of comforting. Maybe.]
