Not Until We Are Lost [OTA]

Who: Finn, his Moogle buddy, and You!
When: July 1st-7th
Where: All over.
What: Finn's travelling around Vaikuntha and finding his place.
Warnings/Notes: None. Will add some if needed.


A. Lavode - Ride ze Shoopuf?

Now that things have calmed down after the Blitzball tournament and whatever happened in Sparks Golsaucia, Finn was happy to travel Vaikuntha at his own pace. His willing yet constantly agitated companion, Valli, actually seemed thrilled with the prospect and suggested they go to Lavode first. She wanted to him to see a Shoopuf.

Finn was beginning to think he should just stop expecting things in this place. He stared at the giant, unmoving beast, realizing that they were apparently used for transportation. That looked... all right. They seemed slow and calm. Nothing to it...

"Surely there are more ways to get around," he thought aloud. "I mean, you'd think they'd get tired of toting everyone- Valli?" He glanced around for his Moogle friend, who had been by his side a mere second ago. Then he heard a rare giggling and noticed that she was using the unconcerned Shoopuf's snout as a spring to jump up and down. "Valli, no! Valli, get down! Someone's going to- Valli!

B. Von Oktavia - You must be this short...

"They call it an artist's retreat, but it's more about fanatics if you ask me, kupo. People don't usually ask me. Kupo."

"I can't imagine why," Finn sighed then promptly walked straight into a wall.

Von Oktavia was apparently Valli's home, so she'd been adamant about showing him around this city, too. So much so, that she took the lead and walked ahead of him, Finn following closely behind to not lose her in the crowds. That was how he'd run into the wall. Further inspection showed that she'd actually just gone through a very small doorway.

She stuck her head back out. "This is the government building. They have a coffee stand in here, and it's literally the best coffee in town, kupo. You coming?"

"You're doing this on purpose," he accused, rubbing his nose, but she ignored him and left. He looked around to find no human-sized door and sighed. After a very short yet energetic debate with himself, Finn got on the ground to crawl in.

C. Yun'Ashia - All the world's a stage.

"This is nice," Finn said as they walked (or floated, in one case) down the street. The city was bustling but it was more subdued and peaceful than most places seemed to be. "This is another artist's city, isn't it?"

"Mostly writers, kupo," Valli nodded. "There's lots of plays and stuff out here."

"Plays?"

"Yeah, kupo. Like theater."

"Theater?"

Valli stopped floating to stare at him for a long moment then gave a tired sigh. "Yeah, okay, c'mon-" With that, she flitted away into the crowd, causing quite the ruckus in the silent city by knocking into people and Chocobo alike.

"Wait, Valli! Stop, hold on, I- Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Are you okay? Sorry. Valli!"

D. Cloud City - Do or do not.

"You've already been here, kupo," Valli whined, floating to keep up with him, "We should have spent more time in Safer Osu."

"I don't like that place," Finn said with a grimace, taking the stairs two at a time to the observatory. And he really didn't care for it or Tark Varentain much. Too utilitarian. Too cold. They reminded him of worse places. "Besides, there's something I need to check-"

While talking to Valli and climbing the stairs impatiently, he ran into someone and caught them before they both tumbled down the stairs. "Sorry! Sorry. You okay?"

Valli sighed loudly at him.

E. Nakagawa - Home is where again?

He and Valli had been debating the merits of attending college in Arito when they crested the last hill and came face to face with a picturesque view of Nakagawa. A small town on the banks of a river, Finn could hear nothing except the sounds of nature. "It's so quiet out here."

"Eh, small towns can make a racket when they want to, kupo."

"It's nice," he decided and started down the hill. "Isn't this where the Cavaliers are? You think they have Chocobos here? Oh, we should find a place to stay first. I wonder what they do for fun-"

"You're more excited about this place than Arito, kupo. You're crazy."

He just laughed at her and made a beeline for the first Chocobo pen he saw.
